Lal Suhanra National Park is one of South Asia’s largest—spanning about 162,568 acres (65,791 ha)—and lies ~35 km east of Bahawalpur on the edge of the Cholistan Desert. Established in 1972 and a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, it features a unique blend of desert dunes, irrigated forest, and wetland, including the scenic Patisar Lake and old Ghaggar-Hakra riverbed.
